This is Campus Look. Welcome.

Campus Look is an interactive photo gallery recording Leeds University's unusual campus.

Each fortnight, photographers are challenged to find and capture something special amid the awesome jumble of the Leeds campus. The latest photos are below; the archive is in the sidebar.

Anyone can join in. How? Check the latest challenge (in the most recent post), make your photo and send it- no more than 1000 pixels wide or 700 pixels high - to the email address below. Your submission will be displayed in the next post.

If you would like to join the Campus Look mailing list, just send an email.

Challenge Number 1

Right then, this is the first task for campus watchers. Pay attention as you go about your day and see if you can find an appealing view of

a staircase.

That should be nice and easy for everyone to find. If you are the sort to do it, you can fill your picture with cold, empty steps, or you could use the staircase as a setting for something more lively and human. Anything goes, but your picture must be taken on the Leeds University Campus.

Please join in by taking an interesting and unusual photograph, resizing it to no more than 350 pixels in width, and sending it with a brief description - including, in particular, where the picture was taken - to the Campus Look address above.

Since this is the first round of Campus Look, you are very welcome to submit more than one picture if you like. All entries will be posted here in a fortnight, along with the next challenge.

Have fun!

Thank you. I will. I have put some rectangles into my digital box-with-a-hole-in featuring stairs and/or staircases. They are still fairly tangled, but less so than the original rectangles, that were connected to a wider world in quite messy ways. I shall look at them, and, perhaps, sumbit them for your consideration.

Sumbitting is a complicated process involving file-size based calculations.
